Attorney
Tammie Gildea has practiced in New London County since 1990.
She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1987 and from
the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1990. She was admitted to the Connecticut bar in 1990 and to the
Federal bar in 1992. She also has completed a course in Mediation at the Quinnipiac School of Law.
After
working for a small local firm, Attorney Gildea established her own
practice in December of 1992. At
first, she provided a wide range of legal services for her clients,
including personal injury, probate, real estate, criminal, family and
bankruptcy law. Over the
last several years, however, she has concentrated her practice in the
area of family law, including divorce, child support, custody,
visitation and abuse and neglect.
Attorney Gildea is well known for the emphasis she places on the best interests of children. She is also committed to minimizing conflict during divorce and custody disputes.
In an effort to lessen the trauma and unpredictability that Court involvement causes in these domestic cases, Attorney Gildea is expanding her practice to include divorce and custody mediation. In addition, she serves as a Special Master for family matters for the Connecticut Superior Court.
